What are Angles?

  • Angles are formed when two straight lines meet or cross each other.

  • The point where the lines meet is called the vertex.

  • The size of an angle is measured in degreesĀ (°).

Key Angle Properties Your Child Must Know

Basic Angle Types
  • Right Angle: Exactly 90° (Like a perfect "L" shape)

  • Acute Angle: Less than 90° (Small and sharp)

  • Obtuse Angle: More than 90° (Wide and open)

Advanced Angle Rules
  • Straight Line: Angles add up to 180°.

  • Vertically Opposite: Equal angles (Look for the "X" shape).

  • Alternate/Corresponding/Interior Angles: Critical for parallel lines!

Shapes & Their Angle Secrets

Triangles (3-Sided Shapes)
  • Equilateral: All sides/angles equal (60° each).

  • Isosceles: Two equal sides/angles.

  • Scalene: All sides/angles different.

  • Right-Angle Triangles: One 90° corner.

Quadrilaterals (4-Sided Shapes)
  • Square/Rectangle: All angles = 360°, parallel sides.
