What is Simple Present Tense ?
It is used to describe:
Habits or Routines – Actions that happen regularly.
Example: "She drinks coffee every morning."
General Truths or Facts – Things that are always true.
Example: "The sun rises in the east."
Permanent Situations – States that are generally unchanging.
Example: "He works at a bank."
Fixed Arrangements (Schedules/Timetables) – Future events based on a schedule.
Example: "The train leaves at 6 PM."
Structure:
Positive: Subject + Base Verb (add -s/-es for he/she/it)
Example: "She plays tennis."
Negative: Subject + do/does not + Base Verb
Example: "They don’t like spicy food."
Question: Do/Does + Subject + Base Verb?
Example: "Does he speak Spanish?"
Key Words Often Used:
Always, usually, often, sometimes, rarely, never
Every day/week/month/year
Once/twice a day
